About The GearSecure Network

GearSecure is the result of our empathy and compassion for the victims of theft that we’ve encountered during our 25 years combined experience in musical instrument retail operations and loss prevention in the Chicagoland area. We saw firsthand how theft affected both individuals and retailers, so we know how how devastating loss can be, and we know how to help.

GearSecure began in 2007 as a blog written by co–CEOs Bryan Peterson and Michael Kuhl. As we progressed, a business plan formed, and we built it all into one site. With the addition of Matthew Skopek, CTO, as programmer, GearSecure has set out on its mission to return equipment to its rightful owners and reduce losses suffered by merchants.

We know that with your help we can make a difference. Professional artists count on their equipment to make a living, retailers count on it to stay in business, and everyone relies on their equipment for their passions. We understand and care deeply about this. We’re looking forward to putting a stop to gear theft.

It’s your gear. Protect it.
